SCINI provides information and referral services through its 1-800-548-CORD phone number. SCINI facilitates access to quality health care by providing a vital link to organizations and agencies offering information, assistance, and services for persons with spinal cord injury and their families. SCINI has over 200 videos on topics relating to spinal cord injury including accessibility, education/training, employment, housing, sports, transportation/travel, and wheelchair use and repair. These videos are available for loan by mail free of charge to spinal cord injured individuals and their families. For registration information, either contact SCINI through the contact information found on our Order Form on the homepage or complete the video membership form online. Here is a listing of the videos we have available. SCINI maintains a resource library of over 500 books, 50 current journals and newsletters, and 200 clippings files on topics related to spinal cord injuries. The David G. Billings Access Collection contains travel directories which provide information to travelers with disabilities. The equipment file contains a collection of brochures and catalogs of disability-related products.

The Information Center provides reference assistance, on-line database searches, and copies of journal articles and book sections for a modest fee. Members are charged a lesser fee. Individuals are encouraged to visit the library and use its materials.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AWARD The 2000 Recipient of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) Outstanding Performance Award went to Cristina Sadowsky, M.D., of St. Louis, Missouri. The Paralyzed Veterans of America has presented Bob Vila, host of Bob Vila's Home Again, with its first-ever Barrier-Free America Award for his work to provide awareness for accessible architectural solutions, and in assisting PVA in its quest to create a barrier-free America.
